Release Date: 01 Jan 2015
New Balance Running 1400v3

Boston, January 2015 – This spring 2015, Boston-based New Balance will update the award winning 1400 racing flat with the New Balance 1400v3. The 1400v3 maintains the same fit and feel runners fell in love with but with updated innovative materials. The 1400v3 launches for men and women in April 2015 with the suggested retail price of $99.95.

New Balance launched the 1400 series to round out the brand’s premium running footwear offering and give runners a unique racing flat that is perfect for race day. Runners not only embraced the 1400 series as a go to favorite on race day but have also come to rely on this shoe for important pre-race training, thanks to the unique last and footprint of this shoe. Considering the successes of its predecessors, updates to the 1400 are minimal, ensuring the 1400v3 will continue as a favorite among elite and everyday runners around the world.

The 1400v3 maintains the same REVlite midsole as the v2, delivering a lightweight, responsive ride, but with intelligent changes to the geometry of the outsole and increasing the use of blown rubber which reduces the chance of slippage and increases durability. Full ground contact through the sole unit continues to provide inherent stability which ensures a secure grip, even on slick surfaces.

The 1400v3 has an updated upper that resembles the essence of the original 1400. The new materials, as well as the design, accommodate for a softer internal fit and less areas of vulnerability in the forefoot areas. The mesh in the 1400v3 is softer and features more no-sew suede rather than films. Both changes work to provide a lightweight, seamless in-shoe feel and a reduced risk of irritation at high flex points, designed to minimize friction.
The 1400v3 delivers the fast feeling running experience runners crave on race day with the durability and protection they need, making it a well-rounded choice for elite and everyday
runners alike.
