Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2020) It was announced today that the basketball documentary GAP YEAR, starring NBA rookie Darius Bazley, will be available for purchase and rental on December 1 via most streaming services. Trailer can be viewed here.

GAP YEAR is a modern look at the NBA’s ‘one-and-done’ rule through the lens of five-star prospect Darius Bazley, following him from high school graduation to the NBA Draft. He was a consensus five-star recruit and the top prospect in Ohio, earning McDonald’s All American honors in 2018. Bazley initially committed to Syracuse University but later chose to bypass college with intentions of joining the NBA G League, a decision that drew national attention. After signing to Klutch Sports Group, he then chose an unconventional path with their strategic guidance and got the famous “Million-Dollar Internship” with the global athletic brand, New Balance, leading up to the 2019 NBA Draft. Bazley was the first basketball athlete to join New Balance as the brand relaunched in the category. Bazley was selected in the first round, and recently finished his rookie season with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The documentary includes interviews with Darius’ agent and Klutch Sports Group founder Rich Paul, ESPN’s Jay Williams and Jay Bilas, NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts, New Balance Global Marketing Director Patrick Cassidy, rapper Dave East and more.

The film was produced by The SpringHill Company’s UNINTERRUPTED in association with SLAM & RTG Features, with distribution from 1091 Pictures. Klutch Sports Group was an instrumental part of the development of this project. The film was directed by T.J. Regan and Josh Kahn.

Exclusive Gap Year merchandise will also be available Friday, January 29th at newbalance.com and slamgoods.com and will include the iconic Made in the USA 992 and 'Paid Internship' t-shirts, suggested retail prices are $199.99 and $30 respectively.
