KAWHI LEONARD OMN1S AND 997 SPORT PACK NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Release Date: 07 May 2019
OMN1S and 997 Sport
Boston, MA (May 7, 2019) – New Balance Basketball dropped tonight the Kawhi 2-Way Pack including the OMN1S basketball shoe and the brand new 997 Sport lifestyle silhouette. Right before Game 5 tipoff in Toronto, fans are able to purchase both shoes on www.newbalance.com/basketball beginning at 7pm EST. The Kawhi 2-Way Pack is the first of multiple limited-edition packs released by New Balance Basketball before the official commercial launch of the OMN1S in Fall 2019.
Similar to the six unique colorways New Balance Basketball revealed during All-Star weekend, the Kawhi 2-Way playoff pack is personally designed with Leonard combining his personality with over 100 years of shoe craftsmanship. The name “Kawhi 2-Way” underlines Leonard’s ability to play both offense and defense. Some even refer to him as the best two-way player in the league. Game speaks for itself. Off the court, Leonard stays locked in and never switches off his intensity during the playoffs. “Playoff Kawhi” is always in attack mode on and off the court.
The royal blue colors, ice bottoms and crocodile print ascents were first introduced by Leonard when dreaming up a colorway for the 997 Sport silhouette with New Balance’s design team. The 997 Sport is a brand-new silhouette inspired by the classic 997 and releases Summer 2019. The colors and materials were then translated into the OMN1S to complete the first-ever playoff pack introduced by New Balance. The OMN1S basketball shoe features New Balance’s new and improved FuelCell technology – a new foam formulation providing the highest energy return of any New Balance performance foam on the market today.
New Balance Basketball is a co-authored story with athletes like Kawhi Leonard and Darius Bazley – supporting athletes who are setting trends, not following them. “We want to partner with athletes who do things differently and who do not follow the same blueprint as their peers,” said Patrick Cassidy, New Balance Global Director, Consumer Marketing.
