New Balance unveils first kit collection for The Potters

[FRIDAY 1 MAY, 2015] New Balance has officially revealed the new 2015/2016 Stoke FC home and away kits. The kits have been unveiled as part of the New Balance ‘Like Nothing Else’ campaign, which celebrates the distinctiveness of The Potters and their fan base.

Drawing on the values of both New Balance and Stoke City FC, the new kits pay homage to the past glories of loyal servants like Eric Skeels whilst also showing a fresh approach to design. The kits offer the players the very latest in performance innovation, kit technology and bespoke design to withstand the rigours of playing in one of the most competitive leagues in world football.

For the home kit, the signature red and white stripes of Stoke City FC has been overlaid with subtle design details which capture the club’s identity with the precision and style of New Balance. The away kit sees a re-emergence of a classic design, with a modern makeover inspired from today’s fashion trends.

Stoke City FC’s Peter Crouch said, “Players are always excited to see the new kits for the next season. This year has been that extra bit special, as it has been the first time working with New Balance. Everyone really likes the kits; we’ll look forward to playing in them next season.”

The kits share a common DNA boasting a contrast collar with v-mesh insert, piping to the cuffs, and a twin needle to the hem. The home kits additional features include the traditional red and white stripes, updated by 11 tonal pinstripes incorporated within the red, signifying the strength and unity of the 11 outfield players, whilst the away kit features a reinvented cut-off sash to give a sharp, attention grabbing aesthetic.

Stoke City FC Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “Whilst we are a forward-thinking club, we also treasure our past and for that reason we are thrilled to see that New Balance has perfected the mix of celebrating our traditional club values and showcasing future ambitions with these new kits.”

The kit incorporates NB Dry, technology that helps keep the body cool and dry whilst being active. The moisture wicking fabric releases moisture away from the body, making it fast-drying and it is anatomically fitted to form around the player’s body shape for ease of movement. NB Flex technology, fiber construction that provides enhanced stretch for a less restrictive garment, is incorporated into the goalkeeper kit to help with motion and fit.

Richard Wright, General Manager of New Balance Football, said, “It has been a pleasure and a very positive experience to work so closely alongside a club with such a fine tradition and stature. I feel like together we have created a set of kits that will accompany the club on many successful games to come in the new season.”

The New Balance 2015/16 Stoke City FC Home and Away kits are available to pre-order now at www.newbalance.com/football (US residents) and www.newbalance.co.uk/football (UK residents). Both kits will be available in store from 23rd May 2015.
