BOSTON, OCTOBER 4, 2017 – Warrior Hockey and Boston-based New Balance announced today the signing of Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Champion left wing Brad Marchand to a multi-year endorsement contract.  Warrior will be Marchand’s official on-ice equipment provider, including the Warrior Alpha QX stick, while New Balance will provide his off-ice footwear and apparel.

“I signed with Warrior and New Balance because of the great experience I have had with their sticks and gear and because they understand what is important to me both on and off the ice,” says Marchand.

Marchand is coming off a 2016-2017 season with career highs in goals (39), assists (46) and points (85) as well as his first career All-Star selection. He also finished fourth in the League in goal scoring and fifth in League scoring (points) last season.

“Brad Marchand represents the energy and competitive nature of the Warrior brand as a young player with incredible ability who displays an intense passion for the game of hockey,” said Dave Morrow, President of Warrior Sports. “We are thrilled to welcome him to our team as a global ambassador.”

A Halifax, Nova Scotia, native, Marchand had tours with three Quebec Junior teams. The Boston Bruins selected him in the third round (No. 71) in the 2006 National Hockey League (NHL) Draft.  Midway through his second season with Providence of the American Hockey League, Marchand was called up to the Bruins and made his NHL debut - and scored his first point - on Oct. 21, 2009, in a 3-2 victory against the Nashville Predators.

Marchand's first full season as a Boston regular, 2010-2011, was also the organization's first Stanley Cup since 1972. He finished with 21 goals and 41 points and placed 12th in the voting for the Calder Trophy.  Proving to be a difference-maker in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he scored 11 times in 25 games - a rookie playoff record for the Bruins - while compiling 19 points in the Bruins defeat of the Vancouver Canucks over the seven-game series.  Internationally with Canada, he has won two World Junior Championship gold medals (2007, 2008) and a 2016 World Championship gold medal.

Marchand’s on-ice Warrior equipment also includes his helmet, gloves and pants.
