The TWO WXY represents a bold expression for New Balance Basketball and Jamal Murray remains the face of the model. Jamal’s dynamic playing style, exceptional athleticism and commitment to his craft align to the TWO WXY’s mission for all two-way players.
“The TWO WXYv4 represents our dedication to providing solutions to take our athletes to the next level” says Trent Casper, New Balance GM for Basketball Design. “We have combined our two key technologies of FuelCell and Fresh Foam to create a shoe that allows players to reach new heights on the court. It is not just about performance, it is about revolutionizing the game and Jamal’s play is a physical manifestation of that.”
New Balance athletes Jamal Murray, Tyrese Maxey, Dejounte Murray, Darius Bazley and Aaron Nesmith will wear the New Balance TWO WXY v4 during the 2023 NBA season. The first launch colorway, called Dualism, draws inspiration from the two-way player and how the contrast speaks to not having weaknesses on the court. Other key colors include My City and Metal Mal which draw inspiration from the retro Denver color palette but through a modern lens and Jamal’s love for video games and the metallic speaks to how he feels invincible when he is on a streak.
