Miu Miu continues its collaboration with New Balance with three new iterations of the brands iconic 574 sneaker for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. This time crafted in fringed blue and marble-effect cognac denim and blanched white leather, the sneakers uphold the New Balance heritage, drawing on a much-loved Eighties silhouette, effortlessly merged with the Miu Miu handwriting.
Elements of deconstruction and reconstruction and of the reinventing of wardrobe archetypes are all at play in a perfect reflection of Miu Miu’s current mood. The stacked New Balance x Miu Miu logo, first seen on the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 runway in Paris, is stamped on the tongue of all sneakers once again.
This latest proposal is captured by photographer and videographer, Moni Haworth and stars model Kayla Dunlap in a stripped back and muscular sequence of still and moving imagery that encapsulates the conversation between fashion and function, between innovation and a respect for technique and tradition that both Miu Miu and New Balance names represent. The New Balance x Miu Miu sneakers are available at Miu Miu stores worldwide and online at miumiu.com from end of February 2023.
