Boston, MA – June 28, 2026 – New Balance today announces the Furon v9, crafted for speed and built for the breakaway. Designed to support explosive movements and changes in direction, the Furon v9 is built for the game’s most dangerous players to do what they do best, at lightning quick pace. Starting July 6, 2026, the Furon v9 will be available globally online and in selected retailers for a suggested retail price of $230/£230/€220.
Weighing in at just approximately 177 grams (in a size 9.5), the Furon v9 is the lightest model in the brand’s global football offerings. The low-profile and sleek silhouette helps athletes feel light and quick on their feet, while dynamic patterns and graphics evoke that the sensation of speed.
The ultra-light, breathable mesh upper delivers form-fitting structure and a close boot-to-ball feel. The central lacing setup and knitted collar combination offers the comfort of easy on/off access at the heel, with a secure locked-in fit.
- “My style of play is very explosive, so it’s important for me that the boot feels light. The Furon v9 lets me move freely so I can focus on my game,” said Jeremie Frimpong, Netherlands National Team member, Liverpool F.C. player, and New Balance athlete.
- “The design stood out to me right away. The Furon v9 colors are bold and make the boot look fast on the pitch,” said Yan Diomande, Ivory Coast National Team member, RB Leipzig player, and New Balance athlete.
- “I spent a lot of time with the product team to give feedback on the Furon v9 so it feels right in realistic game movements. I tested out small details that will affect the comfort and performance on the pitch,” said Bukayo Saka, England National Team member, Arsenal F.C. player, and New Balance athlete.
Every element has been refined to meet performance goals in the most effective way possible, supporting fast acceleration, sharp deceleration, and rapid directional changes. The plate design features innovative T-shaped studs for multi-directional and control at a player’s top speed, and the Speed Ctrl Stud is designed to support quick cuts, sudden stops, and sharp changes in direction that create space as you leave your marker behind.
- “The Furon v9 gives players that critical support while they read the game, change course, and explode into open space with confidence,” said Michael Mills, Senior Category Manager, Football at New Balance. “Every detail supports fast reactions and sharp changes of direction while players create separation and disrupt defenses.”
The Furon v9 will be available in an Alkaline Green and Metallic Blue colorway and two core white and black colorways. Limited equipment and accessories will also be available. For more information, visit newbalance.com/soccer or follow @newbalancefootball on Instagram.
