Jones Joins Fellow Team New Balance Athletes in Volunteering with A Precious Child to Give Back This Holiday Season

December 21, 2020, New Balance today announced the recent signing of American middle-distance runner, Dani Jones. A 5x NCAA Champion and 12x All-American, the 24-year-old athlete will join a roster of talented female runners on Team New Balance, including Emma Coburn, with whom she’ll train in Boulder, Colorado.

A recent graduate of the University of Colorado, Jones has secured first place wins on the track across the 1500-5000m distances. Most recently, she placed first in the 5000m at the 2019 NCAA Women’s Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 15:50.65. She’s a longtime athlete and runner who hails from a family of athletes: both of her parents ran track at Indiana State University.

“I am incredibly grateful and honored to be joining the New Balance family,” says Jones. “A company that leads through character and authenticity, New Balance continues to push limits and elevate standards through sport and I am so excited to start this journey with them. I truly believe I am a step closer to achieving my goals on the track with this team by my side.”

Following in the footsteps of many Team New Balance athletes with a personal philanthropic passion, Dani Jones marked her signing with the brand with a volunteer project. She and teammates Emma Coburn, Cory McGee and Boris Berian came together to donate 500 pairs of New Balance shoes and 150 hoodie sweatshirts to A Precious Child, an organization that provides children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential. In addition to the gift, the four runners volunteered to support the Precious Gift holiday program to provide gifts to children who would otherwise go without during the holidays.
