New Balance Unveils the 2040v5, their Most Ambitious Made in USA Product Yet

BOSTON, MA (August 13, 2026) – Today, New Balance introduces the Made in USA 2040v5, a silhouette created to explore the outer limits of what the brand’s renowned domestic manufacturing facilities can achieve. A construction process that combines premium materials, advanced tooling technologies, and complex manufacturing processes, representing the most ambitious expression of craftsmanship in the brand’s history.
The original 2040v1 was released in 2012 as the pinnacle expression of Made in USA craft. The 2040 has carried on as a proving ground for new technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques in our US-based factories ever since. With the 2040v5, the pursuit of what's possible when craftsmanship and innovation converge reaches a new level.

Constructed with premium Horween® nubuck leather across the foxing, toe, and mudguard, the 2040v5 reflects an unprecedented level of material quality, engineering, and craftsmanship. Every detail, from the debossed finishes and layered construction to the bespoke TPU branding components, was designed to elevate the product experience. Underfoot, a full-length carbon fiber plate, secondary medial carbon plate, and a three-part FuelCell, ABZORB SBS, and ENCAP cushioning system work together to deliver one of the most technically advanced and uncompromisingly executed footwear platforms New Balance has ever produced.
The Made in USA 2040v5 launches exclusively in North America on August 20, 2026, on newbalance.com and at select retailers. Pairs will be available globally beginning in May 2027. Suggested retail pricing is $400 USD.
