~~BOSTON, MA - April 2015 – This spring 2016, Boston-based New Balance combines award winning Fresh Foam cushioning with the 1080 series to give runners the best in premium performance running, with the Fresh Foam 1080. The Fresh Foam 1080 will launch in January 2016 with the suggested retail price of $149.95.
Select runners’ biomechanics, force patterns and wear tendencies helped guide the New Balance design team to deliver a supremely cushioned underfoot feel that respects and maintains the runners’ need to engage with the ride itself. The Fresh Foam 1080 delivers the teams’ long-awaited undertaking of bringing Fresh Foam to premiere neutral; a substantial midsole with an inherently stable footprint and careful attention to areas of flex.
Extensive data collection included recording a select group of runners’ biomechanics, force patterns and wear tendencies in order to deliver a supremely cushioned underfoot feel that respects and maintains a runners need to engage with the ride itself. The Fresh Foam 1080 gives runners a pinnacle neutral shoe that can handle any amount of mileage.
With a one piece Fresh Foam midsole the Fresh Foam 1080 gives runners a continuously smooth ride without interference. An intelligent emboss on the top bed of the midsole in conjunction with data driven flex groove placement, combine to complement flexibility in this tremendously cushioned underfoot shoe.
The Fresh Foam 1080 features a bootie-construction specifically designed to accommodate various instep heights and foot volumes to wrap the midfoot securely. An engineered mesh in the vamp adds to the luxurious, premium appeal, designed to give runners room for natural toe splay as they log long miles.
